Yipu New Energy participates in the major hydrogen energy project of the autonomous region, assisting in tackling key issues in solid hydrogen storage and transportation technology

On July 30th, the "Breakthrough" project of the autonomous region's science and technology, led by Inner Mongolia Yipu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., officially launched the "Posting the Challenge and Taking the Lead" hydrogen energy special project - "Tackling and Demonstrating Solid-state Storage, Transportation, and Application Technologies for Green Hydrogen". This marks not only an important milestone for the company's deepening exploration in the hydrogen energy field, but also signifies a crucial step for Inner Mongolia in the breakthrough battle for core hydrogen energy technologies.

As the leading unit of the project, Yipu New Energy is fully aware of the significant responsibility. We have formed a cross-disciplinary and high-level collaborative research team with six top institutions, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Inner Mongolia University of Technology. At the kick-off meeting, over 30 people attended both online and offline, including Ding Wenjiang, CAE Member, Liu Yuming, Deputy Director of the High-tech Division of the Science and Technology Department of the autonomous region, Shi Guohui, Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Professor Wu Jianbo, the project leader, and Wang Shunli, Academic Dean of the School of Electric Power Engineering at Inner Mongolia University of Technology. Under the professional guidance of CAE Member Ding Wenjiang, the participating experts conducted detailed inquiries on key aspects such as the feasibility of the project implementation plan, milestone node setting, budget preparation and execution. The targeted optimization suggestions provided guided the project with precision, making the path of technological breakthrough clearer and the direction more definite.

Green hydrogen is made from renewable energy electrolysis of water, with zero carbon emissions throughout the entire chain. It can help decarbonize heavy industries such as steel and chemical, and can also be integrated with energy storage, transportation, and other fields to build a green energy system. However, storage and transportation are the main obstacles to its industrialization - high-pressure gaseous storage and transportation have high energy consumption and high costs, while low-temperature liquid storage and transportation require strict equipment requirements. Solid state storage and transportation technology efficiently adsorbs and stores green hydrogen through special materials, which can reduce costs, improve safety, and provide core support for the full chain connection of green hydrogen. Inner Mongolia has abundant wind and solar energy resources, making it an ideal area for green hydrogen production. Breakthroughs in solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation technology will break geographical limitations and promote the delivery of green hydrogen to a wider market. The participation of Yipu New Energy not only helps transform the energy structure of Wuhai, but also has the potential to promote the formation of a complete green hydrogen industry chain in Inner Mongolia, providing valuable experience for the national and even global clean energy transformation.

In the future, under the guidance and support of the Science and Technology Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Wuhai City, Yipu New Energy will actively respond to the requirements of optimizing the management and service mode of major special projects, and deeply integrate into the innovative ecology of industry university research integration. We will take breakthroughs in core technologies as the driving force, integrate resources from the innovation chain, industry chain, capital chain, and talent chain, and make every effort to promote the implementation and effectiveness of projects, contributing the "Yipu power" to the high-quality development of Inner Mongolia's hydrogen energy industry!
