Sinopec has supplied over 900 tons of hydrogen to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area
According to the news from the Sinopec News Office, as downstream demand for hydrogen in fuel cells gradually recovers, the daily filling volume of Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical Hydrogen Fuel Cell Hydrogen Supply Center steadily increased in April. Among them, the daily filling volume on April 6th reached 1.033 tons, setting a new high for daily filling volume in 2023. As of April 14th, Guangzhou Petrochemical has supplied a total of 911.9 tons of high-purity hydrogen to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting the development of the hydrogen energy industry in the region.
Guangzhou Petrochemical is the only large-scale refining enterprise of Sinopec in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and also the first high-purity hydrogen production base of Sinopec in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area In March 2020, Guangzhou Petrochemical took the lead in launching the first phase of the 1500 ton/year hydrogen fuel cell hydrogen supply center project, which was officially put into operation in December 2020. High purity hydrogen with a purity of 99.999% was produced using the tail gas from the dehydrogenation unit of the styrene unit.
The company attaches great importance to hydrogen energy technology innovation, and has applied for multiple patents such as "a method for manufacturing and supplying hydrogen energy from styrene tail gas" and "a hydrogen filling hose" through project research and development. The development of a complete set of hydrogen purification technology for fuel cell vehicles has filled the gap in fuel hydrogen detection technology in South China. At present, 12 national patents have been applied for in the hydrogen energy industry, and 9 have been authorized, promoting the development and application of key core technologies in hydrogen energy devices.
With the accelerated development of the hydrogen energy industry in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Petrochemical continuously improves the production and filling efficiency of high-purity hydrogen through continuous research and optimization, ensuring the growth of market demand for hydrogen energy. By running two hydrogen diaphragm compressors in parallel, utilizingThe "Easy to pick up" system arranges the order of vehicle filling, explores measures such as filling two or three hydrogen vehicles simultaneously, and continuously sets new highs in the production volume of high-purity hydrogen. In addition, by strengthening communication with hydrogen carriers, increasing customer stickiness, and signing hydrogen supply contracts with local backbone hydrogen energy enterprises, a long-term cooperation has been formed to jointly explore the market and achieve a win-win situation.
It is reported that Guangzhou Petrochemical is promoting the construction of a hydrogen energy (Phase II) project with a capacity of 5000 standard cubic meters per hour. At present, all approval work for the project has been completed and equipment procurement is underway. After completion and operation, it can produce approximately 3600 tons/year of hydrogen that meets fuel cell standards. The project is planned to be completed by the end of 2023 at CCCC. After operation, the total fuel hydrogen production capacity of Guangzhou Petrochemical will exceed 5100 tons/year, making it the largest fuel hydrogen supply center in South China.
On April 16th, China Petroleum announced a breakthrough in the technology of long-distance hydrogen transportation using existing natural gas pipelines, providing technical support for China's future large-scale and low-cost long-distance hydrogen energy transportation.
